March 5, 2010
Hello Raintree Friends and Family,
I hope this e-mail finds you doing well in this first week of March. I know for many of you it has been a great week. (Among those would be the Holemans whose baby was born healthy—congratulations!) Of course with any family this size, some of you have had difficult weeks. I know several who have spent time (or are spending time) in the hospital. Thanks to our many small group leaders who continue to check in on the ailing members of their small groups. I love hearing how those in our small groups are caring for each other!
Now for a few news and notes:
“Beware of the I’ds of March”
I’d thought about serving and helping out but I’m too busy…
I’d thought about getting involved in small group but I don’t think I would like it…
I’d thought about giving more regularly but the budget is too tight…
I’d thought about going to church more consistently but we have been traveling so much…
It is my prayer that this is the month that we refuse the I’ds of March. Make this the month that we march forward as God’s people to expand His Kingdom through our service. Step out this month—you won’t be sorry!
Check your Information in Our Directory
Isn’t it frustrating when you don’t get word about something happening at church? The e-mail doesn’t get to you or the postcard never arrives. Perhaps that is because we have incorrect information in our data base. To correct this potential problem and to give you a chance to update your information if it has changed, we need your help: This Sunday we will have printed copies of our directory in the lobby. We ask that you stop by the table (you will see Toza or her delegate nearby), find the directory that will have your name (organized by last name) and be sure that your information is correct and up to date.
Small Group Spring Break is Upon Us
Each small group’s leaders have the final call, but our leaders have been encouraged to take a two week break from groups on the weekends surrounding Spring Break (14th/21st). Consult with your group leader about the rhythm of your group. If you are looking for a group to attend, be sure to grab a card from the Small group board with the leader’s phone number and find out when the group will be meeting.
Great Job Inviting Your Friends!
We are having the largest crowds ever at Raintree. The PM service has been averaging around 100. We even had over 730 a few Sundays ago (646 officially since many attended more than one assembly). You are doing a great job of inviting friends to church. I am so proud of you! Keep it up!
See you Sunday as we continue our study of the gospel of Mark. This week we will learn not about distance education—but Distance Dedication. We will learn from Peter’s mistakes leading up to his denial of Jesus. Sadly, we have much in common. Join us this Sunday as we all learn how to change that tendency!
Grace and Peace,
Brent
