Hello Raintree Family and Friends,

Can you believe the first month of our summer break is almost over? I hope you have had some quality time with friends and family. Speaking of, see below for several opportunities to use the summer rhythm to get even more involved with your church family and Raintree!

Small Groups Gather for July 6th

Celebrating our freedom in this country is a great tradition every July 4th. Make plans to gather on that Sunday night for some backyard fun food and fellowship as we celebrate the freedom we have in Christ as well! All of our small groups will be gathering on July 6th for one of our two meetings in the month of July. All meetings are from 6-8pm. In addition, our youth group will be meeting at the same time for one of their home invasions. What a great chance to meet new people at Raintree! Please see this Sunday’s program and pick up a flyer in the welcome center for all the details of where to meet and what to bring.

Sign up for the Men’s Retreat July 11-13

We already have 25 of you signed up. Let’s see if we can add about 10-15 more! I will be teaching on leadership. Dave will be leading worship. There will be great food, and fellowship at our camp near Carlsbad for New Mexico, all for only $30 plus sharing gas cost with those you carpool with. We will carpool to Guadalupe camp in three waves. We will leave the church at 10:00am if you plan to play golf with us in Carlsbad. We will leave the church at 5:00pm if you don’t plan to play golf. If you want to join about half a dozen riding their motorcycles call Orlando Guerra or Tim Moore (you have to supply your own motorcycle). We will return Sunday afternoon. Sign up for the retreat this week on your communication card. Make your check out to Raintree and give it to either Toza, Mark, or myself or drop it in the offering plate with a clear designation of what it is for in the memo line.

Connection Luncheon This Sunday!

If you are new to Raintree and are wanting to place membership, or simply wanting the information to make such a decision, please join us for this luncheon right after the third assembly. Even if you didn’t RSVP, we would love to have you. We will have plenty of food. You are not obligated to become a member if you attend this free luncheon hosted by elders and staff, but should you decide to become a member later, you wouldn’t have to attend again either.

Only Two Assemblies on July 6th and 13th

Because so many will likely be out for independence day and then the men’s retreat, we have decided to reduce the number of assemblies from three to two on July 6th and on July 13th. As we did on Thanksgiving and at Christmas, we will not have an 8:15 service on either of the dates above. Dave has worked hard to blend the worship style of the remaining two services (9:45 and 11:15) to accommodate those who enjoy the Classic service as well as the Contemporary service. We will resume with the 8:15 service on July 20th.

Pray for our Elder’s Retreat this Friday and Saturday

Mike, Bruce, David and I will be spending all day Friday and Saturday praying for direction about Raintree’s long term direction. We ask that you say a prayer that the Lord would reveal Himself clearly. Thanks for praying for your leaders.

Welcome New Members

Welcome to the following new Raintree members who joined us at the Connection luncheon. When you see them, make sure to say hi and welcome them to Raintree. BTW: Many of you were unable to attend the April installment of the Connection and asked about the next offering. The next connection Luncheon will be offered probably in late June--specifics will follow soon.
